Our accommodation can be found at Canterbury Student Village (more on that below) and comprises rooms and studios that come with all the necessities. Students will have a ¾ bed, desk, chair, and wardrobe; plus, all our rooms and studios come with an ensuite bathroom complete with shower, toilet, and sink. Landlords are a mixed bag; some can be absolute legends while others can be nightmares to deal with. 

The beauty of our Canterbury student accommodation is that we remove the landlord from the equation. If you need anything, anything at all, just ask our onsite property management team. Their job is to maintain the high standards of our private accommodation and ensure that any problems are resolved quickly. As for price, rates vary depending on the room or studio you choose.

Easy Booking Process

Making a booking with us is as easy as it gets, no really, it is! You can choose to make a booking in one of three ways. First, you can make a booking online by clicking ‘Book Now’. Second, you can make a booking through an agent, or you can book via our onsite teams by calling us. 

Once you’ve selected your accommodation option and completed the application process, your tenancy agreement will be sent to you via our tenancy portal StuRents. You’ll receive an email with a link to your agreement. You’ll be required to upload your ID (passport) and student ID (this can wait until after you’ve received your offer letter). 

You then simply sign, and that’s it. We don’t typically provide extra items, such as bedding or kitchen utensils. If you’d like us to arrange an arrival pack for you, let us know; this can be done for an additional cost. 

Interesting Things to do in Canterbury  

Students will never be short of things to do while staying in Canterbury. The city has much to offer, from culture and history to entertainment and shopping.  

Much of student life is spent out on the tiles of an evening, and so you’ll be pleased to hear that Canterbury has plenty of bars, pubs, and clubs to please everyone. You’ll find trendy wine bars, beer gardens, whisky bars, boltholes and more. Whatever takes your fancy, Canterbury delivers. 

Are you looking to grab a movie? You’ll find two cinemas within walking distance of our university accommodation. Fancy something a little different? Then you’ll also find an elephant trail, ghost tours, country walks, escape rooms, and so much more. Plus, no visit to Canterbury is complete without checking out The Canterbury Tales. This free-to-enter interactive museum showcases the work of Geoffrey Chaucer. 

As for shopping, well, Canterbury has this covered too. There’s Fenwick’s Market which runs every Wednesday and Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. This is a great place to go if you love vintage clothes. You’ll also find an assortment of other quirky items as well as food trucks, and more. Afterwards, take a little river tour along the River Stour. 

One last mention is Whitefriars – Canterbury’s premier shopping location. The shopping centre hosts all the best brands under one roof, along with a bevvy of eateries, cafes, and more. Come back at night to catch one of Whitefriar’s regular student shopping nights – enjoy live music, student discounts, board games, and more!

Note that not all universities have an SU, though the ones that do vastly number the ones that don’t – Canterbury’s universities are among those that have an SU.
