Getting Around From Thornaby
Mandale Terrace is on Mandale Road in Thornaby, making it practical student accommodation in Thornaby for anyone who travels by train. It’s an en suite near Thornaby station, which is just a few minutes on foot. From there, regular services run to Middlesbrough, York, Newcastle and beyond. That makes this handy student accommodation near Teesside University: Teesside University is around three miles away, an easy train or bus ride into Middlesbrough. Closer to home, the Durham University International Study Centre at Queen’s Campus is around 15 minutes’ walk, and Stockton Riverside College is nearby in Thornaby.

Your Deluxe En-Suite comes fully furnished. There’s a ¾ bed, a desk and chair for essays and revision, and a private en suite that’s yours alone. The door locks, the central heating keeps you warm through the darker months, and you won’t wait for a shared bathroom before a 9am lecture. When it’s time to eat, the shared self-catered kitchen has a cooker, fridge, freezer and microwave.

Weekends on the Tees
Stockton has a lively cultural side once the week’s work is done. ARC Stockton puts on theatre, comedy, music and cinema all year round. In summer, the free Stockton International Riverside Festival fills the town with outdoor street theatre and performances. For shopping, food and a film, the Teesside Park retail and leisure park is close by in Thornaby. A riverside stroll across the Infinity Bridge is a good way to clear your head between study sessions.

Washing machines and a vacuum cleaner are on site, and a cleaner helps keep things tidy. The common room, with a communal TV, is where match nights and catch-ups happen. WiFi is included in your rent and provided by ASK4, so there’s no separate contract to set up. Speeds may sometimes be lower at busy times. Mandale Terrace is ANUK and National Code accredited and professionally managed by Cloud Student Homes. Our on-site management and maintenance teams are there when you need them, and the Cloud app lets you report a repair or message the team in seconds. The building is covered by CCTV, and your bedroom is lockable. Gas, electricity, water and WiFi are all included. Contents insurance through Howden for Students comes at no extra cost. We’re members of Client Money Protect, so your payments are safeguarded. Subject to criteria, you can pay in instalments or line payments up with your student loan. If you don’t have a UK guarantor, the Leap Guarantor Waiver is available as an optional extra at additional cost.
